Mission 2 [Written]

To the people of Luceti,

If anyone is in need of someone to act for a play or anything similar, or simply wants to hear a sample of my acting talents, I will be waiting in the main square, near the shops. I will sample from any play or story that you bring to the best of my ability, even if I am unfamiliar with the work. A true actor must be versatile, after all!

I think Paru was looking for people to act.

Really?! What kind of role is Paru looking for? And, while I'm at it, what does Paru look like, so I know who to look for?

Paru has long green hair, and she reminds me a bit of a cat.

I'm not yet sure what play she's decided on, but she was looking for actors the other day.

Thank you. I managed to get in contact with her; she didn't seem to have any problems with me trying out for her play (not that she would, of course), but she needs a few basic positions filled beforehand. Do you know anyone who would be able to run the lighting for a stage performance?

Not really. Maybe you if ask in the network, someone would volunteer.

I am; it's just that I get much more opportunities to fight than I do to act. I figured, while I'm here, why not see if anybody needed an actor for something?

Worth a look. I thought I heard something about a play awhile back, but I honestly didn't pay attention to the rumor.

Someone told me about a play by a person named Paru... Unless that wasn't the one you heard of. It's probably best that I audition for roles in various plays in case I don't get one of them.

It was pretty recent, so it might be the same one.

And it never hurts to try. And hey, you might just get the role you're looking for!

Thank you for your support, Adell! Also, I haven't forgotten about our sparring match; I've found my equipment, but I need to get all of it to one place before I'll be ready. I've gathered so many weapons and armour over the years that I can't bring it all from the stores to where I'm living in a single trip!

...So many weapons and armor? Just how much have you collected?

I have about a hundred different suits of armour; most of them have magical properties like increasing my strength, decreasing damage from certain kinds of attacks, and that sort of thing. As far as weapons go, I've lost count. Well over two hundred, anyways. However, I can only wear one suit of armour at a time, obviously, and I can only wield up to two hundred weapons with one certain armour. I likely won't use that during our sparring match, though. I wouldn't want to hurt you too badly, seeing as we'd just be sparring.

...Damn, you've been busy back home. Man, if you have that much stuff here, are you sure don't need help moving it?

And I take it you use all different kinds of weapons too?

Thanks for your concern, but I don't need help right now. I only have one load to go, and then I should have everything I need.

As far as weapons go, I generally prefer swords more than anything else. However, I occasionally use spears or bisento, depending on what armour I'm wearing.

Ah. Lot of people where I'm from use swords or spears. ...What's a bisento, though? I don't think I've heard of anything like that.

It's a stick with a blade at the end. It's kind of like a spear, but used more for slashing than stabbing.

Cool. Kind of like a naginata, then? I've seen spear users in my world carry those around. They're not really my style, though.

The two weapons are similar, yes. I don't use it as much as I use swords, though; mainly when an opponent is just out of reach. How about you? What weapons do you use in battle?

You fight demons and magic-users with your bare hands? And without magic?

Yup, pretty much. That's just my style!

[Albert continues in his attempts to recruit people, still looking around the shopping plaza for ... particualarly interesting people. He might glance over at this other redhead as he wanders.]

[Noticing a person wandering around the plaza aimlessly, Erza glares at him.]

Is there anything you're looking for, or are you just loitering?

[Wonderful, he doesn't have to start the conversation!]

I'm looking for people to recruit.

[If there's one thing Erza doesn't like, it's people being lazy when she's around. Besides, if neither one of them spoke up, things would get pretty boring!]

Recruit? For what?

My rebel army. It's very small right now, but someday, we'll be a force to reckon with. [He's going to hate himself when this experiment is over.]

How small is it? And what are you rebelling against? The Malnosso?

There's just a handful of us right now. [Like, not even that.] And yes. We're rebelling against all oppressive regimes, and we're in need of members.

Are there any other oppressive groups here?

There are dangerous individuals, so there's the potential for oppressive groups. So we need to be ready. [There's a pause.] But our main enemy would be oppressive regimes already in place.

[Erza was torn. She longed to uphold peace and justice, but going after all of the evil groups in existence with only a handful of people seemed like a suicide mission. Then again, that's basically what she did under normal circumstances...]

I'll consider joining your group; just give me a couple of days to find out about my future in acting.

In the meantime, what sort of people are in your group?

There's no rush. [dryly] We aren't going anywhere in a hurry.

...Sort of people? [He has to think about it. He's just been recruiting anyone who seemed interested...] People who want to fight against the Malnosso.
