Mission 17 [voice]

[Erza's currently at the Battle Dome, fighting a gargantuan dragon in a rocky environment. It's going quite horribly for her, but she's still trying and failing to land any significant blows. Thankfully for her, she has no idea how to remove the safeties, or she would have done so and would have actually been hurt by doing this. However, "surrender" isn't in her vocabulary, so she keeps trying until the time runs out.]

So that's Igneel, huh? He's stronger than I expected...

[Once she's done, she heads up to the viewing area, browsing through her journal a bit before speaking.]

Does anybody have any suggestions for creatures or people to fight? Or if you want to spar, that's okay as well; I just need to get some kind of training in.

Hm...there are some scenarios from home that I was going to try in there. I wouldn't mind company.

Sure, that would work. Actually, I don't think I've done training alongside someone else before, so this could be interesting. What sort of things did you have in mind... Terra, right? [Though from what she could see in the small picture on the journal that had been given to her during the latest event, she figured that she should ask - there's more people with green hair here than she's used to.]

Well, this is this vast plan in my world that attracts all sorts of monsters. It's call the Veldt.

Sounds interesting. Do you have a lot of monsters in your world, then?

Yes, there's a wide variety; not just in the Veldt, but in various caves or other wilderness. There's even a town which makes for a good scenario...though I would never want to live there.

If it's as dangerous as that implies, I can see why not. Any of those sound like good scenarios, though.

Alright. I just need to leave my pet with Setzer next door and I can head over to the battle dome.

[Terra nods.]

I think that town can wait for another time. I haven't tried the Veldt in a while, and it could be fun with someone else.

Sounds good. I'm interested to see what kind of creatures your world has in it.

[She heads toward the console.]

Hm...I'd like to keep the power levels at normal. Do you want to fight with the safety on or off?

[Erza blurts out what she's thinking, almost involuntarily.] There's a safety?

...Turn it off; that would work a lot better for training.

[Terra looks at her in surprise. She thought everyone knew about that by now.]

You didn't--

[Well. It's too late to deny it, right? Besides, Terra can heal, so she's not too worried about what they'll face.]

I agree. It isn't quite the same if you know the enemy can't harm you.

[So she finishes fiddling with the console, then steps back.]

It's ready; let's go.

I... [She just shakes her head, mentally face-palming as she walks into the room.] Never mind.

[Once inside, she summons two swords into her hands, glancing around for any sign of whatever creatures this place could conjure up.]

[Terra enters and peers around, but they don't have to search for long to see the nearest targets. A pair of Behemoths (http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Behemoth_%28Final_Fantasy_VI%29) roam the expansive plain, searching for prey of their own. Upon catching sight of them, Terra glances to her companion.]

They're difficult to defeat, but they have a weakness to ice magic. I'll do what I can there, but watch out for their counter-attacks.

[As soon as the creatures are within range, Terra starts to work on a Blizzara spell.]

That sounds good. Do you want to practice in the barracks, or try one of these simulations in the newer building? [If it's the former, this will probably end badly; she's basically incapable of holding back, and she's a shonen action manga protagonist with the unrealistic strength that such a position implies.]

Mnn... well, I haven't tried those simulations before ne. So maybe we an try those?

Sure, that will work. I'm already there; do you know how to get here?

I'm Erza Scarlet; I have long red hair, and I'll be wearing armour. How about yourself? [Far too many times, she's forgot to ask for a name or description, which tends to backfire one way or another.]

It's nice to meet you, Erza-chan~! I'm Mitsukuni Haninozuka but I usually just go by 'Honey'~ Mnnn... I'm have short blond hair and well, I guess I'll be wearing my karate kit.

what style? ranged, weapon?

Technically both, I suppose. I mainly use swords, but I can summon as many of them as I want, so throwing them will occasionally be necessary if the situation calls for it. How about you?

I use a weapon for direct combat but can adapt my fighting style.

Are you in the battledome now?

Yes. I can get to the barracks quickly if you'd prefer to train there, however.

[And once he arrives, she's in the main lobby, waiting for him. She doesn't know what he looks like, so when she sees the seven foot tall cat-thing, she stares in confusion for a second or two before speaking.]

...Can I help you with something?

[She instinctively looks around for the source of this voice, but can't tell where it's coming from.] What's going on? Is this some kind of magic?

Hhht.

I am speaking to you via telepathy.

...Oh... Okay. [She relaxes somewhat. She was worried that it was something that was messing with her senses, but telepathy she can handle. It certainly seemed different than the magic-based telepathy she was used to, though.]

[She walks over to the console.] Was there any sort of setting that you wanted? There has to be some kind of enemy summoned by this thing, but I'll just pick whatever seems to be the weakest option so it doesn't get in the way.

I can adapt to any setting. Choose whatever conditions you need for your training.

[After scrolling through the options a bit, Erza makes her selection and walks into the chamber as a large medieval-style castle (http://www.photographyblogger.net/wp-content/uploads/2009/05/castle10.jpg) forms around her. Summoning a sword into her hand, she gives it a few practice swings as a brief warm-up.]

((OoC: Since it can get somewhat complicated, I might as well explain Erza's magic. She can summon weapons and armour in real time; the weapons can be basically any kind of melee weapon, though the most she can summon is 200 at once. The armours boost her stats, as if she was an RPG character - some armours make her faster (somehow), others decrease the damage done by various elemental attacks, and some can allow her to fire beams of energy. Also, she has some degree of telekinesis in regards to her weapons, and she's quite strong even without the stat boosts.))

[Interesting architecture. Not unlike things Mewtwo's seen in his travels...but more genuine somehow.

Mewtwo generates a swirl of energy, forming his own weapon.]

[She's heard about people using spatulas as weapons, so the spoon doesn't throw her off as much. Summoning another sword into her free hand, she gets into a fighting stance, watching for any kind of opening.]

[Mewtwo notes the appearance of the second sword. Is she creating them, like he does with his own spoon? Is she teleporting them from elsewhere? If it's the former, a disarming technique won't work. She had said that her fighting style was "technically both" ranged and close combat...

Mewtwo would take his chances with ranged. He raises the spoon, sending a powerful Psywave through it and directing the force of the blast towards Erza.]

((OoC: just figured that I should ask - are psychic attacks visible or not, and what's the difference between something like Psywave and Psychic?))

[Erza's knocked back by the attack, surprised by its range. Once she recovers, she ex-quips to the Black Wing armour (http://images4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20100419202657/fairytail/images/8/87/Black_Wing_Armor.jpg) and leaps forward, swinging one of her swords at the Pokemon while leaving the other held back to defend herself.]

((ooc: PM coming your way.))

[Mewtwo quickly brings up his spoon to block the blow, meeting the sword with the handle of his weapon.

The cupped end glows and suddenly stretches, looping out and back towards Erza while turning into the sharp-tined end of a fork.]

((OoC: Okay, thanks!))

[First a spoon, and now a fork - what is this, a fight or a meal? Erza leaps back to get some distance between herself and her opponent.]

A transforming weapon, huh? Is it just limited to silverware?

[Now why would I tell you that?

(...well okay it might be)]

Hht.

[The entire weapon melts away into the air with a hiss, leaving a slight glow in Mewtwo's hand. He jumps and floats into the air, rising about four feet and backing away from Erza, and sends another Psywave towards her with a flick of his wrist.]

[She recognizes the gesture as some sort of attack (figuring it's air-based, since she encountered something similar in her own series) and brings up her swords to block. It still knocks her back, but doesn't leave her as stunned. Ex-quipping to her Heaven's Wheel armour (http://media.animevice.com/uploads/0/3695/257250-episode_38_screencap_7_super.jpg) and quickly summoning a dozen swords to float behind her, she makes a gesture of her own and the floating swords move to form a circle.]

Circle Sword! [The swords themselves begin spinning, flying through the air like a medieval buzzsaw towards Mewtwo.]

[...heh. Circular motion, is it?

Gathering up a massive surge of power, he starts the sweep of wind in a ring around himself. In an instant, the cyclone jumps up into a whirling tower of wind, Mewtwo himself floating at the funnel's end.

The spinning circle of swords is easy to pull into the trap, like a penny rolling into a funnel basin. Once they are inside the tornado, Mewtwo breaks the formation and drops them to the ground, harmless.]
