Mission 22 [voice/action]

[Erza's horoscope reads:
Aries
-Your father is not an astronaut.
-A stranger may mean you harm this week so greet everyone with a blood-curdling shriek.
-While you were away from home, a stranger showered in your bathroom.
-Buy a cat and name it Chris. It will get you out of a jam.

Naturally, she doesn't believe a word of it.]

This is absolutely ridiculous.  And what's an astronaut?

[The only one which sounds remotely plausible would be the third one, so after finding out what an astronaut is, she heads back to her apartment.  Will she find anyone there?  Who knows!]

((OoC: I haven't really planned anything for this event, so anything goes!))

[He thinks about Zenigata's jitte, which he somehow stole the day before, and the tension wrench, and green fedora that somehow wound up in his posession earlier that day. He couldn't help but chuckle.

He didn't bother to mention that he didn't remember either of those incidents.]

I literally can't help myself there, my dear Miss Scarlet. [He liked saying that. It reminded him of Gone with the Wind...

There was humor in his voice when he continued.] Besides, I think I might be able to steal something we all want, if given enough time. You can help me too, if you want.

I take it you mean finding a way out of here? [As far as she can guess, that's the only thing that everybody would want. ...Well, everybody except for the people who are dead back home.] If that's the case, then good luck - I've been here for almost two years, and nobody's came close.

[voice]

[identity profile] redjacketthief.livejournal.com 2011-12-01 04:38 am (UTC)(link)
Well, if you know my reputation, then you know what I'm capable of. I don't want to brag, Miss Scarlet, but I have stolen things that are pretty impossible. I won't be able to help myself from trying, really, so why shouldn't I be somewhat organized and productive about it?

I'm not gonna go about bashing that barrier anyway. No way I can break it if I tried.

...if you don't want to help me, being a law abiding citizen and all, I understand. Could you at least point me to someone who might be able to, though? That is, unless you want to try and cuff me first. A...close associate tries that regularly, and I always get out, so I have to tell you that it won't work.

I haven't heard much, to be honest - I know you stole a five-story statue once, but that's about all that I've been told. Still, as long as you don't steal anything here, there won't be any trouble.

If you're looking for help, I'm afraid I can't point you to specific people. Still, as some general advice, I'd suggest looking for intellectuals first. Brute force hasn't done much to help us get out of here, I'm afraid.

[Lupin chuckles. He did steal a five-story statue once, and stole a similarly massive statue on a separate ocassion. Oh, they were so fun!]

That's useful enough, Miss Scarlet. I kinda figured it would be something like that, since the powers-that-be will have accounted for crazy powers and the obvious approach.

...don't worry. If I find something that's interesting or might be useful, I'll remember you. I'm a gentleman too--don't forget that.

[voice]

[identity profile] redhairedknight.livejournal.com 2011-12-05 02:15 am (UTC)(link)
...That's certainly a different behaviour for a thief than what I'm used to seeing - generally, they tend to be thugs, and they don't usually have any sort of code like that. [Of course, she's also used to beating up most of the thieves she finds, so she doesn't really ask about that sort of thing.]

[voice]

[identity profile] redjacketthief.livejournal.com 2011-12-05 02:41 am (UTC)(link)
Puh-lease! Don't throw me in the same ranks as a common criminal. I have something they lack--class, panache, a nice, nice Mercedes and a group of friends that I have complete faith in regardless of what they do.

Besides, what's a gentleman without a little bit of chivalry? I'd shame my grandfather otherwise!

[voice]

[identity profile] redhairedknight.livejournal.com 2011-12-08 01:29 am (UTC)(link)
Well, it's always good to have friends that you can trust. Aside from the two that you mentioned, are any of them here?

Oh, really? What's your grandfather like?

[voice]

[identity profile] redjacketthief.livejournal.com 2011-12-08 02:52 am (UTC)(link)
Two: a quiet thief of a samurai, and a lovely, but smart, young woman--thoroughly not a thieving type, as far as I can tell.

And my Grandfather...why, he was the best thief that the French countryside--no, all of Europe, has seen! Not even the Great Detective Sherlock Holmes could outwit him!

[voice]

[identity profile] redhairedknight.livejournal.com 2011-12-09 03:03 am (UTC)(link)
Can't say I met anyone like that, but I suppose I'll have to keep an eye out.

Sounds like you've got a lot to live up to. ...That name sounds familiar, though... [Erza had seen a collection of Sherlock Holmes stories in the library at some point, but she didn't really look into it. Still, the name stuck.]

[voice]

[identity profile] redjacketthief.livejournal.com 2011-12-09 03:32 am (UTC)(link)
Hey, don't go giving Goemon a lecture. He's a proud, honorable man--he knows exactly what he's doing.

And the name should sound familiar. I mean, we are talking about the greatest detective and the greatest thief of all time here. It's not that big a burden to live up to. It's a fun challenge, actually.

[voice]

[identity profile] redhairedknight.livejournal.com 2011-12-09 11:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, as long as he doesn't steal anything here, there won't be any problems.

...I suppose that's a good way of looking at it. So you were named after him, I take it?

[voice]

[identity profile] redjacketthief.livejournal.com 2011-12-10 12:26 am (UTC)(link)
I told you--honorable man. Anyway...yeah. I was.

...and we're talking an awful lot about me. Boring stuff too. What about you?

[voice]

[identity profile] redhairedknight.livejournal.com 2011-12-10 01:41 am (UTC)(link)
I'm sure that the story of my life won't be very impressive from your standpoint - I've been working in a mage's guild for most of it. It's good, honest work, even if it gets dangerous at times. [...She takes the ability to use magic for granted at times, especially when so many people here can use it.]

[voice]

[identity profile] redjacketthief.livejournal.com 2011-12-10 03:12 am (UTC)(link)
[Erza...shouldn't have said that.]

Mage's Guild...? [the feelings of delight and awe at the coolness factor is evident in his voice. Be glad that he isn't fanboying. He's done that to someone already since his arrival.]

[voice]

[identity profile] redhairedknight.livejournal.com 2011-12-11 04:24 am (UTC)(link)
[Well, that was... unexpected.] Um... Yes. We usually fight off monsters, stop dark guilds from committing crimes, and do odd jobs like finding lost cats. My guild's called Fairy Tail, and we're the best in the land of Fiore!

[voice]

[identity profile] redjacketthief.livejournal.com 2011-12-11 04:52 pm (UTC)(link)
You fight monsters too?? And dark mages??

[He's fanboying now. He's fought 'monsters' too--if humans who intentionally mutated themselves count--but never with magic or anything.]

Aside from the stuff like finding kitties, that sounds cool! ...You haven't found any cats that eat pencil shavings, have you? You know, I met a Ninja recently who also did lots of odd jobs and stuff in her home...I never thought people who do cool things like you also did such normal things!
