[When Erza wakes up in the morning, she finds that she's much smaller than usual. This isn't a surprise to her - it wouldn't be the first time that she was de-aged, and similar things had been happening to other people all week. Up to this point, she had only been affected in smaller ways - being teleported around the enclosure for a few days, but then, nothing. At least, nothing until now.

Sighing, she decides that, since she's up so early anyways, she might as well get changed and go for a jog. As is her routine, she exquips into an outfit that she got when she was brought down to being twelve years old. ...Except it doesn't quite work out. For some reason, she can't use her magic.]

What's going on here? [...Wait, that didn't sound like her. Erza dashes over to a mirror, and sees Wendy looking back at her. For a few moments, she's speechless. However, once she gathers her bearings, she decides to go and check on Wendy. Whether Wendy's normal or not, this will inevitably be confusing, but this situation should probably (in her mind, at least) be dealt with now.]

Wendy, are you awake?

[Voice]

[A very stern-looking young girl is on the journals this morning. The contrast between this expression and Wendy's normal behaviour is rather striking, but Erza doesn't exactly give anyone who knows Wendy much time to register this change - rather, she skips straight to the point.]

So who else is in this sort of state? Having their bodies switched with their friends, I mean.

...Also, what other effects has this experiment had on people? In a case like this, we should probably be prepared for anything.

[Throughout the rest of the week, Erza will be trying to go through her usual routine. Given the amount of danger that tends to involve, (between training, exploring, and eating unhealthily massive amounts of desserts) Wendy will probably be sticking around to curb that sort of behaviour, just in case it sticks when things go back to normal.]

[Okay, she's calmed down a bit, but she's embarrassed by her flailing seeing how Erza is so collected despite this experiment.] Eh-- So these are the types of experiments those Malnosso people do. Even though I shouldn't be, I'm amazed at how secretly those people did it without us knowing.

It's certainly impressive, in a way. I'm glad that it's your body that I'm in, though - the last time something like this happened, I turned into Jellal for a week. [Needless to say, it was pretty awkward.]

.. Into Jellal-san? You can turn into someone that isn't here..? Or was he here before as well?

I don't think he was here - if he was, then I would have saw him. [After all, what reason would Jellal possibly have for wanting to avoid Erza? ...oh, right.] I guess it's all up to the whims of our captors - I've heard of some people being turned into animals, among other things.

I... I suppose he wasn't here then, hearing how other people are transformed into other things depending on what the Malnosso want. I'm glad I wasn't turned into anything like that though...

[On another note...] When did you notice you turned into me, Erza-san?

[Erza nods.]. And it's not just bodies that get altered - sometimes, they mess with our minds as well. Thankfully, I haven't seen as much of that lately.

Around the time that I woke up. Yes, I know - I need to be more observant about that sort of thing. [...Erza tends to be quite hard on herself, especially given how rarely this "sort of thing" happens.]

Really? Our minds as well? Um, would you have any examples for that one?

And, um, you don't have to put yourself down like that, Erza-san! You wouldn't have known something like this would happen; I'm sure most of the people in our guild wouldn't have noticed until they woke up as well.

It seems to be a tradition that, in February, they make people fall in love with each other. Whether they were friends or complete strangers beforehand doesn't seem to matter.

I suppose not. I should have suspected something would happen, though - I'm usually not lucky enough to be left out of these experiments.

F-Fall in love with each other? What... What would they be trying to accomplish with that? [Since she believes that those Malnosso people should have a reason for doing those things, at least...]

Eh -- Really? What usually happens to you during those experiments?

I'm not sure... Maybe they're just trying to see what kind of reactions they can get out of us. Or maybe they're using us to test some sort of chemical. Neither idea is pleasant, but that's all that I can think of.

If I'm lucky, it's something like being teleported around town at random intervals, or having everyone see my thoughts. The problem is when they make it so I'm not acting like my normal self - falling head-over-heels for random strangers, being terrified of everyone, forgetting about the guild, that sort of thing.

Well, if Erza-san thinks it's one of those, it probably is.. I haven't been here very long so I wouldn't be able to make an accurate guess, but from what I can see, I would probably guess the first one. Maybe the Malnosso people just want entertainment?
